Live Report WHISKEY MYERS

For the forst time, the Texans of Whiskey Myers are about to tread upon the boards of a Parisian stage, and the audience came forward. The long queue that stratches in front of the theater "Les Etoiles" demonstrates that the Southern Rock enthusiasts passed the word around to discover that talented band, whose only appearance in France went back to July, 2012, during a Country festival in Craponne sur Arzon.

You should not arrive late to take advantage of all of the concert, because Buffalo Summer, planned to open,
had to cancel several dates of the tour further to a problem of vehicle.

From the outset, Whiskey Myers is going to be straightforward with "On The River", an excellent mixture of "Southern Rock" tinged with Country, the final of which in the furious solo of guitar is going to set the tone
of the evening.
Behind this first extract of the last excellent production of the Southern rockers, will be linked "Mud", that is also the title of the album. This mid tempo tune, strengthened by the presence of the Hammond organ, displays in a resolutely rock register, whereas the more airy "Lightning Bugs And Rain" demonstrates that the Texan combo
feels at ease in all the registers.

The Southern band, set up in 2007, is quite naturally going to put forward its last opus, with not less than 6 titles, including the powerful "Frogman" and its catchy chorus, without forgetting the unstoppable melody of "Some Of Your Love".
The Cody Cannon’s way of singing is gut-wrenching, letting go itself in the inspired intonations which make the trademark of this unique style, while keeping a so rare authenticity nowadays.
The guitarists turn out remarkable of complementarity, especially when the duet Cody Tate / John Jeffers bursts out on "Wild Baby Shake Me" or "Home", two tunes which make the pressure and the atmosphere rise in the hall.
The touches of violin and harmonica bring these details which strengthen melodies, while adding it an original touch to distance itself from legends that are the Allman Brothers Band, The Georgia Satellites or still Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Whiskey Myers manages of the tour de force to master as well the acoustic compositions, and those more aggressive, to offer an exemplary musical variety.
For almost 2 hours, the Texans delivered a differentiating set while showing efficiency, proving to the 350 persons there that the continuity of the kind is well ensured!
